I’m a PMHNP student and still trying to understand what I need from this book to pass my first exam. Each chapter starts with no learning objectives, so with so much information it’s hard to focus on what’s important. The chapters do have concluding comments and discussion questions at the end. No case studies. Good information on the brain, memory, trauma and neural networks. It’s a lot to remember.

This book is so hard to read. It’s like reading a history and physiology book at the same time. I was required to purchase this book for PMHNP school, unfortunately the first 2 chapters have been so difficult to read and follow. I really hope the rest of the chapters are better.
